Celebrating Black History through the music of Memphis native and founder of Earth, Wind and Fire Maurice White. The show will feature the African Jazz Ensemble performing the songs of Earth, Wind, and Fire. Maurice White was the founder and visionary of EW&F and grew up in Lemoyne Gardens in South Memphis. He wanted to use his music to spread positive vibrations throughout the world. His own words capture his intentions best: “creating a band that will represented universal truths was primary and the music was secondary. I wanted to uplift humanity.” Tix are $5 (6 and under are free) All proceeds benefit Knowledge Quest in South Memphis.

Join us for the annual Great Backyard Bird Count! This event, launched by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society, helps provide worldwide data on wild bird populations in near real-time. This event is free and open to all ages. Participants will meet at the First Tennessee Foundation Visitor Center and then venture out into the Park. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Binoculars are recommended. Please leave pets at home for this event.
