Lots of churches offer a one-week Memphis Vacation Bible School to preschool and elementary aged kids in the community. You don't have to be a member of the church to attend. Each school has a theme, with activities and songs tied into learning about God and having fun. Programs are low cost or free. Kid milestones are a big deal to me. Some are so fun, like learning to crawl, and others I just dread. Yesterday my tween got braces. Having other moms to talk with about your job as a mom is really important. Being a mom is hard work, and can be very isolating. As a new mom you're home alone with a little being that is all "me, me, me" and it's easy to get overwhelmed and think you're doing everything wrong. As your kids grow up the daily tasks change and so do the challenges. Having other moms to touch base with is huge.
