Do you ever want to run away from your responsibilities as a mom?  Some days I do!  A great “cure” for this problem is a night out.  With other moms.  No kids.  No men.  Dress up a little, go someplace fun and let off some steam.  It’s therapy, but cheaper and more fun.  And it’s good for the rest of the family to miss you a little!

A mom had a friend coming into town and wanted recommendations on where to go for a Girls Night Out.  The moms (as always) had great recommendations:

Alchemy, great food and drinks, perfect for a girls night.

Sweet Grass

Sweet grass next door is fun!!

Beauty Shop is really fun and very girly

Start with Alchemy or The Beauty Shop, then finish up at Molly Fontaine’s for drinks and people-watching.

The beauty shop is a great place for fun atmosphere food and drinks. Not smokey either. Molly fontaines is fun but it gets smokey. Depends on if that bothers you or not!

Molly Fontaine lounge is fun too.

3 Angels on broad street. Small, cool fun. Food is amazing.

Andrew Michael Kitchen!!!

What about Cortona? I’ve heard good things about it and several of the restaurants in Cooper Young. You could even restaurant hop without ever moving your car.

Will Tucker, blues phenom plays BB Kings Friday and Saturday nights from 4:30 to 8:00. Truly a Memphis Experience. It’s also Trolley Night downtown on South Main Street Friday night. Trolley is free so you can get there from anywhere you park downtown. There will be music and street performers from 6-9 p.m. and in the art galleries. Singers, bands, belly dancers, fire eaters, all kinds of entertainment, all free. Very safe and family friendly.

The Trolley Tour is always fun and Will Tucker is amazing!

Go to Itta Bena’s for dinner then hang out on Beale. Take the Trolley Tour and enjoy downtown. Downtown Memphis is my favorite place to go on the weekend. Have fun.

Itta Bena downtown! You will not regret it. Fabulous food, drinks, and a swanky soul feel.

Before going to BB Kings or the Trolley Tour you could start off with Happy Hour at The Brass Door on Madison. There will be a talented young singer/songwriter playing from 5-7 p.m. there, her name is Taylor Bothwell (okay, so I’m a little biased on this one!)

McEwans is great for dinner, not girly but good food. Bhan Thai on Peabody is really cool if you like Thai food.

Sharky’s on Poplar is an AWESOME to eat… great food & drink, music, and service!! Justin Macre & Bob (the bartenders) are SUPER!!

Sidestreet Grill on Florence…..MARTINIS!!
