Sometimes I have the luxury of having a lunch out. Both kids are in school, and I’ve got enough time to spare to have some ME time. A lunch out with another mom, or as my November went – with my mom! She was here in Memphis for three weeks, so I made time to take her to Just for Lunch in the Chickasaw Oaks Village.

If you like to eat a nice lunch out and do some browsing this place is a fabulous option. The food is interesting and quite good. The atmosphere is great (ask to sit “outside”). Go on a gray, rainy day and somehow you’ll feel like you got some outside time. Sure it’s all indoors – but they set it up with enough trees, fake roofs and skylights that you might actually trick your brain into thinking you sat outside for lunch.

Once your meal is finished you can get to browsing. Clothing, jewelry, housewares, stationary and more. For a complete list of stores check out the Chickasaw Oaks Village shop directory. There is also a pastry shop and the Central Library is next door. If you opted to have lunch with kids there is even a small playground next to the Pier One parking lot…but I’d make this a moms only outing if I were you – the browsing is too fun to be dragging kids along!
