Pizza is the one food both my kids will eat at a restaurant – Hallelujah!  We’ve been to Old Venice several times and have been pleased with both the pizza and the atmosphere.  It’s one of those places that you can take your kids but also feel like you’re getting a treat.  We’ve eaten other food off the menu and it was tasty, but last night it was all about the pizza.

The pizza has what I’d consider a standard crust – not really think and not really thin.  The pizza there is usually really good, but we’ve there some nights and found it inconsistent.

The dining room has a high ceiling and an eclectic collection of lights.  The volume is perfect if you have kids.  You know, loud enough that you know your loud kids won’t stand out, but not so loud it’s a problem.  They usually have crayons, and two sizes of cups with lids.

If you like special deals on food and drinks this is a great place to frequent.  They are on both Facebook and Twitter and use these sites to post their daily deals, which seem to be pretty consistent.  Here’s what I’ve been seeing:

Sundays - 1/2 priced Mimosas and Bloody Marys
Mondays2-for-1 bellinis and martinis starting at 4pm
Tuesdays1/2 priced scotch and $2 drafts until close
Wednesdays1/2 priced glasses of our house wine (Fetzer) and 1/2 priced single topping pizzas from 4-7pm
Thursdays - Mojitios, 2-for-1 wells, and $2 drafts!
Fridays
$2 domestics and $3 premium bottles, and something called “four cheese Friday”
Saturdays
bottles of house wine (Fetzer) are just $6.50 all day

So now you can see why we went on a Wednesday (making sure we tipped on the full price, of course).
