I was on my way to my favorite upscale consignment shop when I saw a sign that caused me alter my plans (don’t worry, I still made it to Celery) – the words “furniture” and “consignment.”
You may have noticed I have a thing for consignment shops. I like nice things, but I don’t want to pay full price. And I’m sick and tired of watching perfectly good furniture (and walls, doors and floors) get dented, scratched and otherwise wrecked by my kids and my cat. So I’m on a quest right now. To find some new-to-me things someone else has already worn in a little, so I won’t want to strangle my kids when they use it as a tissue.
DCI Home is a new store with a long history. Terri Panitz is the owner, and her mom operated an interior design business out of the same building for a long time, I think she said 30 years. So a couple of days ago Terri opened up shop. She’s selling an “eclectic” mix of consigned furniture, artwork, new furniture and accessories, rugs (from a shop upstairs), plus vintage purses and organic meals from Get Fresh Memphis.
She’s in Brookhaven Circle (address at the bottom). Stop by and check out her store, and tell her Suzanne from East Memphis Moms sent you!
