For some wonderful reason, a lot of area museums offer free or discounted admission to TN residents on Tuesdays…while others offer discounts and freebies on other days. This is a great way to check out a spot you may not frequent enough to buy a membership. Also, if you’re a member of the Children’s Museum of Memphis you can take advantage of a number of perks, including discounted admission to other museums! Here’s a list of Memphis museum discounts or free days:
National Civil Rights Museum
Mondays: free from 3-5pm (3-6pm June-August)
not offered during nationally observed holidays and special events including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Columbus Day.Â
Memphis Zoo
Tuesdays: free to Tennessee residents from 2-close (must be 16+ or be with someone who is 21+)
this discount is not offered in March (due to Spring Break)
