For some wonderful reason, a lot of area museums offer free or discounted admission to TN residents on Tuesdays…while others offer discounts and freebies on other days. This is a great way to check out a spot you may not frequent enough to buy a membership. Also, if you purchase a Contributing Membership to the Children’s Museum of Memphis you can take advantage of a number of perks, including discounted admission to other museums! Here’s a list of Memphis museum discounts or free days:
National Civil Rights Museum
free from 3-5pm (3-6pm June-August)
not offered during nationally observed holidays and special events including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Columbus Day.
free to Tennessee residents from 2-close (must be 17+ or be with someone who is 21+)
this discount is not offered in March (due to Spring Break)

Memphis Botanic Garden
Pass this info along to anyone you know who could benefit:
Memphis Botanic Garden offers free access to qualifying families through the Regions Free Family Membership program. Qualifying families can come to the Garden with their EBT card to receive their membership.
Children’s Museum of Memphis
Families that cannot afford to pay admission may apply for “Yes, EVERY Child!” memberships by stopping by the Administration Building during regular business hours. Families must meet certain requirements to qualify for these funds, including providing proof of residence (MLGW bill).
