Childcare Options During School Breaks

September 19, 2018 by Sally 2 Comments

School Holiday Camps

If you’ve got a full-time job outside the home, school breaks can be stressful!  Unless you’ve got family in town or a killer vacation schedule, you need to find a place for your child to go during their break.  Here are some options the moms suggest checking out, please add additional options via a comment.

Click here for a list of Fall Break camps.

Click here for the camp directory (mostly Spring Break and Summer camps).

Click here for how to find a sitter. Consider splitting a sitter with another family if both families have to work. Or, if there is a willing mom who will watch your kids for you, maybe you can repay her by taking or picking up her kids from school every day? You two decide what is a fair exchange.

Here’s another idea – Mom & Dad (or two families) split the time taken off work.
So, for example,
Mom #1 watch the kids the first morning of Break, then
Mom #2 watch the kids the first afternoon, then
Dad #1 watch the kids the second morning of Break, then
Dad #2 watch the kids the second afternoon.
Each parent really only misses a half day of work over the span of 2 days.
