EMMs Recommend Memphis Dog Boarding Places (and Daycare)

Pets are family, but sometimes we just can’t take them with us – thus the need for Memphis Dog Boarding. It’s nice to know they are well taken care of and happy while we’re away. If you’re considering a pet sitter check out this post.

What I have done before when I’m desperate – is post on our neighborhood Facebook group and/or Next Door. I also will ask a middle schooler or high schooler if the pet-sitting is pretty basic (which my dogs are). For Fall Break, I waited so long to book, that not only were the boarding places booked, so were the pet sitters!

Our general routine is that we board our dogs for half of our time out of town – then we ask a relative to pick them up for the remainder. This both
A) Doesn’t put that large of a burden on the relative and
B) Tires out the doggies after playing with others for several days which makes them a little easier to sit on the 2nd shift!

Brown Dog Lodge
East Memphis & Germantown/Cordova

• We take our dogs there once a week for doggie daycare, and we & my in-laws use them exclusively to board. The staff is absolutely awesome and the accommodations are beyond impressive. Check it out!
• Brown Dog Lodge for sure!! The owners are friends of ours. Wonderful people and they’ve created an amazing business!
• FROM SALLY – I used Brown Dog for years until a place closer to our home opened up. We were very happy there.

Camp Bow Wow
East Memphis

• The people at Camp Bow Wow have been really good to our 3 dogs.
• Camp bow wow s been working well the last 3 times we’ve used for our yellow lab.
• My 2 German Shepherds go to Camp Bow Wow on Whitten, they are great!!!
• FROM SALLY – now my doggies go to the Camp Bow Wow at Ridgeway/Quince because it is so close and convenient. I also love that they’re open until 7pm for pickup.

• camp for paws just a year or so ago, they pick up the pet from your home and they come back clean with a bandana. great care there
• Camp 4 Paws is awesome and totally worth the drive. They played fetch with our dogs, have lots of fenced green space for them to RUN!! Can’t recommend them enough.

it is pricey, but they can go so far as to have a TV in their “room”, get daily play time with other dogs, and even use a telephone to receive calls from you. If you don’t use a pet sitter, this is the next best thing.

Collierville Pet Hospital
I never worry about my furry children when I entrust them to CPHB. The staff there is like extended family and the dogs love the attention they receive. Even though it’s a little out of the way for me, it’s definitely worth the peace of mind!!!!!

Edgewood Farm & Kennel
Owned and operated by Jimmy and Linda Segerson. Boarding, Cats, Dogs and Horses. 901-756-1810. They are located 5 miles south off Byhalia Exit Bill Morris Parkway. We take our German shepherd there. She has an indoor/ outdoor kennel and gets let out to to run 4x/d. Ideal for larger breed dogs.

Barks and Recreation opened in May of 2015! We are the only facility with an overnight staff that lets your dog out twice throughout the night! Daycare is included in our boarding cost, and we walk each dog individually around our cove 2-3/ day (weather permitting). We have indoor/outdoor kennels so your fur baby can use the doggy door any time he pleases! We never have more than 12 dogs in a playgroup at a time, and we base our playgroups on the age, play style, size and temperament of each dog. Visit our website!
