Recommend House, Laundry & Carpet Cleaners

I know a working mom who once got house cleaning services as a Christmas gift from her in-laws. She was soooo happy.  She said it was the best gift she has ever received.  Lots of moms love help with house cleaning, especially if they are juggling motherhood and a career.  Here are some companies the moms of East Memphis recommend and scroll down for carpet cleaning recommendations.

Ideas to get you started:

For a period of about 3 years, I used a homeschool student to help me clean my home. While I tidied, she wiped everything down in my kitchen and vacuumed my whole house, then mopped. No windows, no dusting, etc. At the time, this was all I needed to feel like the house got “clean enough.” I have now moved onto Magic Broom.

QuickFix is a company that employs Rhodes College students to complete odd jobs. Their website doesn’t give the impression they offer regular cleaning services, but if you want to, for example, declutter and need help to haul large bags or moving furniture, they might be the company for you.

If you have a regular cleaning service, you might ask the person(s) who comes if they can wash and fold several loads of laundry for you while they’re cleaning. If this is something that they say they don’t offer, you can ask that person if they would be willing to complete it for an additional charge after-hours.

I would check on NextDoor or if your neighborhood has a Facebook group. Oftentimes it is cost-effective for a cleaning lady to complete houses close to each other, and they may be willing to squeeze in an additional client if the travel time is just down the block.

They are amazing and extremely reasonable. I have enjoyed because it is a service and not an individual, if you are displeased at anytime she (Angie the owner) fixes the problem immediately. Very happy with this company.

I’m a work at home mom who’s a food photographer and stylist. I can really make a mess! I use So Fresh & So Green regularly to clean our home. They’re so efficient, and their prices are so reasonable that I can make their housekeeping a regular thing! They have such incredible attention to detail, and all the girls are so friendly and sweet. Lauren is so on top of her game with scheduling and following up.. that’s critical to me! I’ve used other services that would not follow up at all, and when I was unhappy with cleaning, I just let it stew! Not good. I couldn’t be happier with So Fresh & So Green (and I hear that about them a lot!).

I have been using a young college student for the past year. Her name is Remy Gifford. She is starting her own company called It’s your Life. I forget what her slogan is, but something to do with they take care of your hectic life so you can enjoy your life. Anyways, She is AMAZING at house cleaning and she also pet sits and nannys. There is a GREAT house cleaner in East Memphis and Midtown. Her name is Natalie and she’s a student at U of M. She uses all natural biodegradable products unless you want her to use something else. She has 6 years of experience and has helped us out so much over the years. Her prices and quality of work are So much better than anyone else in town. Give her a call at 628-0269

The Laundry Fairy started coming to my house once a week to do laundry after I saw her post through EMM. She does all of my ironing while I am at work and when I come home I can play with my kids. It honestly feels like a little fairy comes by and does my chores for me.

Germantown Cleaners

• Germantown cleaners! Switched from Bensinger’s after years…shirts started to go missing and the bill was outrageous.
• I use Germantown cleaners off of Sanderlin. They aren’t cheap, but they get ALL sorts of stains (paint, marker, glue, mud) out of my daughter’s smocked dresses. Bensinger’s never paid attention to any stains the clothes might have. Great for men’s shirts though. So I switched.

Carpet Cleaners

EMM has used personally: Carpet Sharks (previously Carpet Monkey). Please tell them Sally sent you! They also do tile.

I highly recommend Roto Clean
Eric with Rotoclean just cleaned all of the carpet in my house and did a phenomenal job. He worked me in on short notice and even stayed until 8:30pm to get the house finished. I had given up hope on certain parts of our carpet ever looking “clean” again but after this cleaning, all of my carpets are now spotless.

The cheapest place we have found is Mr. Klean. We get almost our whole house cleaned for only about $50-$60! 2018 update – Google is showing this business is closed.

Call ServiceMaster by Cornerstone at 624-9200. They are a local ServiceMaster Clean franchise and do excellent work. Please make sure you read reviews and processes. Some steam cleaning will void the warranty on your carpet. Cornerstone cleans your carpets then uses a hot water extraction.

• I use Joey Remmers on Minor street by the University of Memphis for my oriental and wool rugs. They are extremely reasonable and do amazing work. My family is in the oriental rug business. My house is full of rugs and with kids and four cats, let’s just say I use them often pick up and drop off.
• I would recommend Fred Remmers. I have had rugs cleaned there and they do a wonderful job. If you drop off and pick up the rug it is cheaper than if they have to get it from your house.
